Today is election day here in the United States. And yes, I know that you already knew that..LOL! But before I get my day started I wanted to make sure to remind you, just in case you might have forgotten, to GET OUT THERE AND VOTE!

I don’t care who you are voting for or what your thoughts are, I just care that you make your vote heard!

Tomorrow is our primary election here in Ohio and I am just SO sick of all the political ads on TV with the candidates proclaiming all of the wonderful things they can do for the state and my area! The fact of the matter is that EVERY politician is full of smoke and hot air when they want your vote! They will tell you what you want to hear just to reel you in and then once they have your vote, they drop you like a hot potato!

Our current President proved that when he was running for re-election! He made a last ditch effort and pulled off a late night stop the night before the election here in NW Ohio. He filled peoples minds full of false hope and promises that he would not forget us if he was elected to a second term as President. Amazingly, he hasn’t come back once since that night and he hasn’t fulfilled any of the promises he made either!

This crop of candidates are no different, so the vote comes down to figuring out which one offers the most believable batch of lies. Yes, I know how negative that sounds, but it is honestly how I feel. I do know that I will be voting for Hillary Clinton tomorrow because I feel she is the best Democratic candidate left in the field. But I wish that both candidates would stop saying they are going to do things that they know they are incapable of doing just to garner votes!

So, to wrap this up, if you are one of my readers and tomorrow is your states primary election, be sure to do your part and get out and vote! Don’t sit back and think that you are just one vote and it won’t matter, because it will! I honestly don’t care who you want to vote for, I just care that you get out there and vote!

I don’t write much about politics here. Mostly because it just causes too much controversy. I’m a firm believer in the fact that everyone is 100% entitled to their own thoughts and beliefs and frankly, because of that I’ve found that political things tend to cause arguments…LOL.

But what I think is neat is that the three “major” candidates that are running for the Democratic and Republican nominations are going to be in Toledo over the next couple of days. John McCain flew in last night and stayed at one of the Downtown Toledo hotels before speaking at a local restaurant this morning. Hillary Clinton will speak at a local High School tomorrow and Barack Obama is coming into town on Sunday.

This is making my area the political hot spot right now, especially with the most recent allegations against McCain that have come out. I’d like to say that I plan on going to see at least one of the candidates, but I cannot tolerate cold temperatures and am not willing to stand outside for hours for a “chance” at hearing one of them speak. This didn’t sit well with my son, he really tried to convince me to take him to hear Hillary Clinton. Oh well, we’ll catch what’s available on the local news. But it’s kind of neat for my area to be in the “lime light” right now for something good for a change!

This post is a friendly reminder to my readers here in the USA that today is Election Day! Although 2007 is in a Presidential election year, I hope that you still take the time to go and vote for the many other issues and positions that are up to vote on this year!

As kind of a side note I would also like to take the time to express to all of my readers how important it is to take part in the voting process.  Although it may seem like you are only a single vote and your vote won’t matter, thinking that way can’t be any further from the truth.  And even if the person you voted for didn’t win, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t keep on voting.  Our country needs each and every adult that can vote to get out there and vote!  If you’re not registered, take the time to get registered.  It’s quick and painless and you’ll be glad you did!  Thank you for listening, I hope that I’ve motivated you to VOTE!!!!

Although I’m not one to get really political here on the blog, I do actively participate in another local political blog and pay attention to politics, both locally and nationally. I’m also an avid news reader as well, so when I seen a news story with the title Democrats court liberal bloggers my interest was definitely peaked!

The story is about a yearly convention of political bloggers in which Presidential hopefuls were in attendance. It talks about how the blogging world as changed politics and how

The days are gone when candidates and political parties could talk to passive voters through mass media, largely controlling what messages were distributed, how the messages went out and who heard them.

This has been more and more apparent to me while reading over at Glass City Jungle. Local politics are normally calm and peaceful this time of the year, but not this year. It seems like it’s been one thing after another. The local politicians and gearing up for this years elections and those seeking seats in different areas are out hitting the campaign trail full force.

I have to admit, I’m starting to enjoy being “political”. It hasn’t been until the past few years that I’ve really started paying attention to politics, with this past year being spent paying the most attention. But I also owe some of the credit for that to my best friend Lisa, she’s helped me to realize just how important paying attention is!
