Sometimes in life, you decide or realize that you’re not always going to be able to have the things you really want. The house that we’re living in right now is, I feel, my own little slice of heaven on earth! Not necessarily because of the house, although it is nice, but more so because of the surroundings!

The peace and quiet is something that can’t be bought with any amount of money, and waking up to the sights and sounds of nature surrounding you is something you can’t put a price on! Like this morning, not too long after I woke up, the dogs were barking at something outside of the slider door. I didn’t think much of it because of the fact that they are always barking at the squirrels and birds. But this time all four dogs were chiming in, so I decided to look out and see what all the commotion was about and was greeted by this:

Isn’t it CUTE??? I love rabbits, we even have a pet rabbit, but there is something about seeing a rabbit in the wild that just makes you OHHHH and AHHHH! And as much as we’d like to build a beautiful patio area in the back yard complete with some nice, comfy patio furniture so that we could watch all the little cotton tails and other animals in their habitat, for right now we’re just going to have to made do with our little deck and old furniture.

Who knows, maybe by the end of the summer we can make part of it happen, but for right now there are a few other things that we need to focus on. It’s OK, I’m a true believer in “If it’s meant to happen, it will”. And at least I do have my little deck and old chairs! They may not be the prettiest things in the world, but they’re definitely better than not being able to sit outside at all!

With all of the land that we have here, there are so many possibilities for the things we can do, both with the house and with the land. One that that is an eventual must do is an outdoor patio! Right now we have a tiny little deck that is barely big enough to hold two chairs and a small table. Our hope is to build a bigger deck this year with the option of adding on to it in the future.

One of the things that I want to do when we build the new deck is to have a set of steps that come off the back of it that will eventually lead out to a brick floored patio area. I want one big enough to hold a couple of different pieces of teak furniture that I’ve found online. The first thing I would like would be a couple of these teak adirondack rockers:

as well as a nice patio table set, like this one:

Other than that, just give me a nice fire pit and a cool breeze on a hot summers night and I’ll be a happy camper! Oh yeah, and the ability for the WiFi to reach out to the patio as well….LOL!
