With all of the land that we have here, there are so many possibilities for the things we can do, both with the house and with the land. One that that is an eventual must do is an outdoor patio! Right now we have a tiny little deck that is barely big enough to hold two chairs and a small table. Our hope is to build a bigger deck this year with the option of adding on to it in the future.

One of the things that I want to do when we build the new deck is to have a set of steps that come off the back of it that will eventually lead out to a brick floored patio area. I want one big enough to hold a couple of different pieces of teak furniture that I’ve found online. The first thing I would like would be a couple of these teak adirondack rockers:

as well as a nice patio table set, like this one:

Other than that, just give me a nice fire pit and a cool breeze on a hot summers night and I’ll be a happy camper! Oh yeah, and the ability for the WiFi to reach out to the patio as well….LOL!

I was talking to my mom on the phone this morning and she asked me if I wanted the set of matching recliners she has in the living room. Well of course I did, they’re awesome recliners and would look great in the front living room. But when I asked her why she was getting rid of them, what she told me completely put me in shock!

My mom is your typical “old school” person and has had the same furniture in her living room for over 30 years. Now, before you go EWWWWWWW you need to know that other than being a little faded from the sun, the furniture is in near mint condition. It’s still very comfortable to sit on and has no holes or signs of being thread bare at all. And since she just turned 70, I honestly did not expect to hear her say that the reason for getting rid of the recliners was because she finally decided it was time to replace her 30+ year old furniture. What shocked me even more was that later, when I was talking to my sister about it, my sister said that the new furniture our mom picked out is a more contemporary furniture style, which she said she couldn’t believe mom chose…LOL! Way to go mom!!

There is no doubt, after cutting my leg on it again, that replacing my current bed is now at the top of my priority list! After I made my video the other night I went into my room to look for one of my daughters shirts that is in the ironing basket. I had neglected to pull the sheets and comforter back down after taking the pictures I used in the video and as I was walking around the end of the bed to the ironing basket I brushed up against one of the corners and the end of the spring that has popped through grabbed my leg and gave it a good bite!

I honestly never thought that much about traditional spring coil mattresses until the springs from this one started popping out and biting me! So now I’m more determined than ever to replace this bed with a memory foam mattress and never return to a spring coil mattress again!

Yes, I know, I do have a beautiful desk already! And I’m very appreciative of it! But, since there are now 4 of us in one home going to school right now, I’m finding more and more that people are coming up here to my office because of the fact that it’s such a good study atmosphere! So although my desk is just fine for me, when there is more than just me here studying it’s just not enough room. I’ve been looking online for office furniture and think that a nice modular desk would be a good option that would give me more room up here when someone else wants to study with me!
